The Relais Alla Corte del Sole-at the sun’s court- is located near Lake Trasimeno, facing Cortona, and at the border of the Sienese territory of Montepulciano. So you may enjoy the view of one of the most evocative lakes in Italy, while at the same time being very close to some of the most important cities in Tuscany for art, monuments, and landscapes: Cortona, Montepulciano, and Siena.
The Relais, with its original conformation, can accommodate up to 35 guests, with 18 rooms of various kinds: Superior, Deluxe, Junior Suite, and Suite. Each room is equipped with every available comfort and is furnished with period furniture: here and there you can find precious details like a beautiful painting, a canopied bed, fine drapery and soft fabrics, small armchairs and dressing tables.
Each room with air conditioning, satellite TV, frigobar, direct outside calls, safe box and internet access. Suites have a fireplace.In an elegantly furnished dining room, with an old Tuscan style and a warm atmosphere, the Relais offers its guests an Italian and international buffet breakfast that satisfies every need. It is a pleasant and relaxing moment of the day, something to remember and to talk about when you are back home from your vacation.
Time spent in our new restaurant is quite an event, whether you
dine on the covered terrace overlooking the beautiful landscape or in the refined
atmosphere of the dining room. After opening the restaurant in the summer
of 2005, our guests now enjoy fully the owners' experience in the art of dining, with
a menu that skillfully elaborates both tradition and innovation.
During their stay, guests can visit our ‘cantina’—wine cellar—where they can taste or purchase wine, products both from our zone and from various Italian regions, and try some delicious snacks.
Tour guides and transportation are made available to guests in order to give them the opportunity to visit nearby cities and places of special interest, such as Cortona with its museums, ancient streets and Etruscan tombs, or Montepulciano, Castiglion del Lago, Siena, Montalcino and Pienza, all with their own monuments, historical squares and enchanting views. Our goal is to make our guests stay as pleasurable as possible, thus we also suggest specific itineraries in Tuscany and Umbria that can also be organized through the Relais with an expert guide who collaborates with us. These are daily excursions for either singles or couples, and for small or large groups. Usually our tourist guide, who specializes in the wine region, gets into the car or bus with the clients, and while driving gives detailed information while answering any question or request.
