Hotel Aviatic

In the 17th Century, a noble lady known as Marquise de Maintenon moved into a house on rue Vaugirard. Here, away from the prying eyes of the King's court, she secretly raised the illegitimate children of King Louis XIV and his mistress, Madame de Montespan. A few hundred years later, the site where this historical chapter took place, opened its doors as the Aviatic Hotel.

In a Parisian setting, the classical elegance of the lobby with its small garden is the heart of the hotel. There, the concierge will welcome you and remain at your disposal throughout your visit. He will take your messages, call a taxi or send your mail or fax messages. He can advise you and help you, whatever your tourist or professional visits and activities. On simple request, he can take care of your restaurant, theater, tour or travel reservations.

The Aviatic Hotel is located at the junction of the Montparnasse to Invalides-Eiffel Tower axis, on one hand, and Porte de Versailles to Luxembourg-Saint Germain axis on the other. Thanks to this ideal location, Hotel Aviatic is within walking distance of the Left Bank restaurants, shops, museums and shows, and, by direct subway, only a few minutes away from the Paris Expo trade fairs and the main attraction centers of Paris.

A Breakfast Buffet is served every morning, with fresh fruit salad, cereals, cheese, eggs, jams and marmalade and Danish pastries. The "Bistro1900" style Breakfast Hall has hardly changed since the early century. Its decor of art exhibition posters, pasted on the walls on top of each other for years and years, will lead you around galleries while you are having coffee.

Sober and refined, our quality rooms all feature complete bathrooms with hair-dryer, minibar, safe, CATV with foreign networks, air conditioning and soundproof. Bathrobes and hairdryers in every room. On simple request, breakfast will be served to your room along with a daily newspaper. A laundry service is also available.

The nearest fitness center is Gymnase Club located at 149 rue de Rennes. It is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. They offer a special price of 16 Euro per day to guests at the Hotel Aviatic. It has a swimming pool, gym, dance, musculation, hammam, step, & other fitness equipment.

The Aviatic Hotel in Paris is nicely located in the Montparnasse district, near several Metro stops. The rooms are quiet and we had two rooms adjoining--the one with the double bed was TINY, the one with 2 beds was a better size. Bathrooms with no place to put anything (typically European) but with new sinks, great showers. Breakfast not included, but a pretty good deal IF YOU HAVE KIDS, since there's no charge for them; otherwise it would be fairly expensive. The front desk staff were exceptionally helpful, kind, and fluent in English.
