St. George
5 Star*****Deluxe
Via Giulia 62
00186 Rome

Harmony of modernism and classicism and a timeless atmosphere born from a reworking of styles and trends: this is the St. George, the new 5 star luxury boutique hotel with a contemporary air, designed by Lorenzo Bellini in one of the most enchanting areas of Rome.

The hotel rises along the distinctive Via Giulia, a street beloved of the Romans for its antiques dealers, churches and old noble palazzi, and for the delightful side streets that surround it such as via Del Pellegrino and via Dei Cappellari, still bearing their ancient Sampietrini paving stones. This evocative 15th century street was born from Pope Julius II Della Rovere’s vision and Bramante’s genius. Here in 1508 work began on the impressive Palazzo dei Tribunali project. The Pope’s plan went beyond the construction of a new road – he actually intended to modernise the city’s Medieval organizational structure and thus he commissioned Bramante to build the giant palazzo to house all the law courts and notaries. Unfortunately the great architect died before either completing the impressive project or taking possession of the new workshop that he himself had bought in the area.

Today, over 500 years later, this Palazzo has returned to life, having been converted into a hotel in a project undertaken by the architect Lorenzo Bellini who is responsible for the hotel’s interior design, while work was overseen by the engineer Nello Nardini. And thus a new hotel enters onto the capital’s luxury hospitality stage. It has all the key qualities – design, comfort, a historic location and a strategic position close to the city’s most important monuments, its most renowned restaurants and it most fashionable nightspots – making it the ideal base from which to set out in discovery of the marvels of the eternal city and perfect for both business and leisure travelers.

The architect Lorenzo Bellini personally attended to the St. George’s minimalist interior design, tasking inspiration from two main points of reference: Aalto and Jacobsen. Following the concept of minimal-chic luxury, Bellini has maintained sense of warmth and charm thanks to soft lighting and large, comfortable seating solutions, with soft cream and wood tones being used for the furnishings and resin floors. Here he has created some serious open space architecture through a series of internal and external areas, mixing the old and the new and thus from time to time pushing guests to discover new emotions and new corners of the hotel.

The luxurious 64-room hotel offers 23 Superior rooms, 35 Deluxe rooms and 6 Junior Suites, providing a dynamic backdrop where the guest is simultaneously the actor and the spectator. In these rooms there is a sensation of time lingering on and guests are pampered by the attention to detail, the views and the furnishing textiles, all of which are magically studied, leaving nothing to chance.

The minimal-chic design takes shape and is further developed throughout the hotel. In the Library it provides a timeless atmosphere where soft music provides a discrete backdrop and where guests can quietly read a newspaper or a book whilst enjoying a coffee or a homemade pastry. In the Cigar Lounge, cigar enthusiasts can enjoy handmade cigars, specially dehumidified to preserve their flavor and freshness and in the Wine Bar, which offers music entertainment and 120 of the best wines and is constantly open, 24-hours a day, guests can feel completely at their ease and free to allow themselves a moment of pleasure and relaxation at any time, enjoying a drink or an aperitif, whether alone or in company.

The highest and most evocative point of the whole building, is home to the newly inaugurated "Terrazza Rosé", the first roof terrace in Europe to be dedicated exclusively to rosé wines. The Terrace offers delicious crustaceans accompanied by a selection of sophisticated rosé wines and champagnes, served in the elegant surroundings of our open-air terrace overlooking the beauty of Rome.

Tradition and innovation also combine in the Hotel Restaurant " I Sofa di Giulia". The chef Agostino Petrosino has created different menu that are a real gastronomic route where next to typical Italian dishes there are inviting multiethnic delights. The cuisine is part of a true “taste philosophy” that favors simplicity, quality, the use of seasonal produce and especially “genre contamination” in the juxtaposition of exotic and Mediterranean traditions: “paccheri” pasta from Gragnano with aubergines, Sicilian pachino tomatoes and cous-cous, Italian sushi and finger food, miniature food for a fast and tasty snack. The brand new Wine Bar, heaven for DOC wine lovers, also serves tempting dishes in "finger food" style and the Cigar Lounge, the height of refinement suggests hand made cigars. A dedicated musical accompaniment provides relaxing background for a read in the carefully selected Library where culture and music create an inviting international alchemy. The St. George goes beyond the outmoded concept of "restaurant".
Sometimes history can be the perfect excuse to go in search of some real relaxation. The extraordinary Health & Fitness Centre at the St. George takes us back to the times of the ancient Romans – true connoisseurs of the art of body care. The initial impact of guests who visit the centre for the first time is that of a perfect balance of sensations. The elegant, modern style fits perfectly next to the Rome of days gone by, as ancient masses of rough travertine marble jut out from the dove-colored walls. This is the sight boasted by the St. George and its Health & Beauty Centre, where the professionalism of the management is focused on a single objective: the sublimation of the senses.

The three inspiring concepts behind the Health & Fitness Centre are Love, Warmth and Passion, and art is their common bond. The St. George’s location would be a more than sufficient guarantee of excellence, but its position in Via Giulia – one of Rome’s most beautiful streets – is just a starting point. From the white Roman “Sofàs” to the Renaissaance Palazzo dei Tribunali, the St. George and its exclusive Health & Fitness Centre offer centuries-worth of history.
The Spa Manager Karol Rondinelli ensures that guests enjoy a truly unique experience. On leaving the St. George’s Health & Fitness Centre, the sensation of “feeling good” lingers on.
