Hotel Palazzo Bocci

Hotel Palazzo Bocci is a four star **** historical palace, situated in the centre of Spello, in the Umbrian region at only 15-km distance from Assisi. Coming from the south, it is only 2 hours drive from Rome while from the North, it takes less than 2 hours from Florence.

With this regard, the Hotel Palazzo Bocci is the ideal place to stay in Umbria; first of all for its central location, close to the major points of cultural interest and for its warm, cozy atmosphere emphasized in a historical context. Since other interesting towns in the region are quite reachable, tours and excursions can be easily organized.

Hotel Palazzo Bocci dates back to the 13th century and was the residence of the homonymous family. The restorations carried out during the XVIIIth and XIXth centuries enriched its actual aspect while the original paintings of the local artist “Benvenuto Crispoldi” (1886-1923) contributed to a nice finishing touch. Since then, after years of renovation works, the Palace was opened as a luxury four star Hotel in September 1992.

The Hotel dispose of a total of 23 rooms including 2 suites of which one with fireplace and original frescoed ceiling, 4 junior suites, 15 doubles and 2 singles with private facilities, shower or hydromassage, minibar, colour TV with satellite reception, telephone with direct line, safedeposit box, air condition, meeting rooms, lift, reading room with a nice fireplace; it offers soft classical comfort that hides the modern technologies with intelligence, so as not to spoil the atmosphere of other times.

Accommodations include breakfast, served in the special sitting-rooms or during warm days in summer in the garden, tax and service while meals can be savoured in the neighbour restaurant “Il Molino” which we highly recommend for its typical local cuisine and a good selection of wine. Package deals can be offered including a meal plan with this Restaurant.

Since the Hotel is located in the Historical center, big buses do not have access in this area and therefore are not allowed to park inside of it. However, we are well organized for the check in of groups because the Hotel’s van can deliver the luggage while it is only a 3 minutes walk from outside the wall to reach the Palace. Of course, any guest with walking problems can ask the driver for a transfer.

For individuals car there is a parking square in front of the Hotel where you can park with a permission from the Hotel; in case of no space there, you’ll park in other spots close to the Hotel where you need a payable ticket except during night and holidays.

* GUIDED VISIT ON REQUEST, not many people know about the Villa fidelia in Spello or Botanic Park in Perugia or Foresta di Dunarobbe, a fossil forest near Terni or other beautiful spots

* ITALIAN LESSONS AT THE UNIVERSITY FOR FOREIGNERS IN PERUGIA at 25 km from Spello
