Locanda del Borgo is a rural house of outstanding character, far away from common hotels of rustic appearance and pompous furniture, offering in contrast a discreet and sober elegance. Locanda del Borgo situated on the edge of the village of Pietralunga, surrounded by a delicate countryside and uncontaminated woods. A sumptuous tunnel of antique tree canopies shapes the quiet lane leading to the ancient residence of the marquis Patrizi. The house has been completely redesigned obtaining seven spacious lodges for the guests. Love for detail is expressed in relaxing colors, in-style furniture with comfortable sofas and fireplaces in all common lounges. Every particular has been studied to realize an elegant and welcoming ambience.

The place is Pietralunga, in the ever mild and green countryside, deep high in the Tiber Valley . We are in Italy's great heart, in Umbria, land of saints and pilgrims, just a few miles away from entering Tuscanian valleys, Val di Chiana and Val d'Orcia. An ideal position for travelling in Italian history and countryside, along the wine and oil paths and in artistic towns, where nature and culture offer an overwhelming gift of marvels, from the Middle Age to the Renaissance, from mounts covered in forests to lakeside resorts, crossing over hills and high plains, where human settlements are only sparse and in sound harmony with the environment.
In this privileged location, on the village boundaries, bordered by centuries old trees and flowering edges, is situated " LA LOCANDA DEL BORGO", a rural development which, established in the 15 th century, was then modified and enlarged in the following centuries, arriving in the today's as an aristocratic country-house. Restoration and refurbishment have redefined the spaces by respecting the original architecture and rebuilding with recovery materials, as it was handed down over centuries, such as greystone and brickwork floors, robust oak and chestnut wood beams and some antique fixtures.

You will appreciate this distinguished and impeccable style also in our service. The cuisine is one of the assets of the site. The delicious restaurant, obtained from an old barn, offers the opportunity to enjoy smooth freshly prepared plates with the local farming and breeding products. Our cellar offers a wide choice of regional wines. You might be tempted therefore to spend most part of your holiday in complete relax in the quiet elegance of the country house. Why not enjoy nonetheless the wild environment and the unspoiled nature of Valle del Carpina, an enchanted place that has still the privilege of being modestly secret?

Wide, stylish and comfortable, all the rooms and suites are exclusively furnished with end-19th century or early 20th century furniture, offer the comfort and the facilities of an up-to-date hotel, with added plenty of charm and privacy. The care for all the details has extended up to selecting first quality bedding and heavenly smooth bath sponges. Some in-room facilities offered are TV set telephone, air drier and locker for valuables.
Three types of accommodation are offered:
Double rooms with French beds, warm wooden floor and amazing view;
Suites, with their unique atmosphere, they are all panoramic and with private balconies;
Apartments with more room available, lounge with fully equipped cooking top.

Our chef will be delighted to prepare for you the best specialties of regional and Italian cuisine. All products served in our restaurant, most of which are organic, come from local farms; their authenticity and quality are the expression of our experience and desire in proposing the best plates of Umbrian regional gastronomy.
Alongside with traditional cuisine, making the best use of local meat and fresh fish, our restaurant proposes also a wide range of vegetarian dishes. Our cellar will allow you to dispose of a broad and accurate selection of regional wines.
