The Villa Lara is a beautiful 5-star boutique hotel in the historic center of Bayeux, nestled in a very quiet and arbored square facing the 11th century majestic cathedral and along the Azure River. The famous Bayeux Tapestry is 2 minutes away, and the Omaha Beach historical sites are only 6 miles away. Guided tours are available through the hotel.
The 28 elegantly appointed rooms are in a French style with 8 different color schemes. All the furniture is made by Moissonnier, a well-known company founded in 1885; its French cabinetmaking skills have been passed on down the generations, bringing the past to life with light touches, suggesting without imposing and breathing new life into traditions to make the present feel magical again, and creating jewelry for the hotel while cultivating an offbeat style: such is the spirit of Moissonnier today.
Rooms range from 322 to 538 square feet, all with views of the Bayeux Cathedral. The hotel features American-style bathrooms with marble floors, bathrobes and slippers and have both showers and bathtubs in most of the rooms. There are ice machines on all floors, and there is a lift/elevator. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel. A buffet breakfast with hot coffee and fresh pastries is available every morning. There are many nearby restaurants for lunch and evening meals.
