Harrington Hall has been recently refurbished to restore the beauty of it's Georgian architecture. It is located in the heart of Georgian Dublin just a 2 minute walk from the city's fasionable shopping areas, Grafton Street and St. Stephen's Green. It is surrounded by galleries, museums, catherdrals, theaters, restaurants and pubs.
Harrington Hall is named after it's most famous resident, Timothy Charles Harrington. His mother was an O'Sullivan Beare and Harrington grew up a nationalist. In 1877 he founded and edited the Kerry Sentinel. Entering politics, he became secretary of the Land League in 1882. As Honorary Secretary to the Irish Parliamentary Party he devised the famous Plan of Campaign of the land war, which he published in the United Ireland on 23rd October 1886 and thereafter, with John Dillon and William O'Brien played a leading role in the agitation, and twice went to prison for his activities. He was M.P. for Kerry (1880), for Co. Westmeath (1833) and for the Harbour Division, Dublin (from 1885). Harrington as called to the bar in 1897 and acted as counsel for Charles Stewart Parnell during the sittings of the commission on "Parnellism and Crime" (1888-89).
He was on a fund-raising tour of the USA with Dillon on behalf of the Plan when the split occurred in the Parnellite party. He supported his leader from the USA and continued his allegiance on his return, but after Parnell's death fell in with Richmond. He was secretary of the Irish National League (1882-95).
He was Lord Mayor of Dublin from 1901 to 1903, married in 1892 to Elizabeth, second daughter of the late Dr. E. O'Neill, of Dublin and issued two sons and three daughters. He continued to sit as a member of the Irish Redmonite party until his death. He suffered a seizure in the House of Commons in 1910 and died in 70 Harcourt Street, now Harrington Hall. MPs earned little then and the family were split up and had to leave the house. One son, Niall, went to relatives in Kerry and later became a lieutenant colonel in the Irish army and wrote a famous book about the civil war, the Kerry Landings.
In later years Harrington Hall was turned into a high-class family hotel known as the County Hotel. In 1943 the Sisters of the Holy Child purchased the property and provided accommodation for girls who came to work and study in Dublin.

Breakfast time
Breakfast in the Harrington hall is a special treat. Apart from the Traditional Irish breakfast you can sample our speciality omelettes, pancakes & fish dishes. Freshly squeezed fruit juices, copious amounts of fresh fruit, yogurts and freshly baked breads are order of the day.
Guest service menu
This is served daily from 2.30pm to 11.00pm. Here you can choose from a wide variety of hot and cold snacks. It includes soup of the day, smoked salmon, wraps, hot sandwiches, cheese selection and a fruit basket option. We offer a selection of wines by the bottle or 1/4 bottle, Cava and champagnes, bottled beers, spirits and of course soft drinks.
Car Parking
Harrington Hall has its own private car park exclusively to its guests. This facility is offered free of charge on a first come first served basis. It can not be reserved in advance ( having said this because we have yet to run in to problems!). Alternatively there is a multi storey 24 hour car park locally available at the Royal College of Surgeons ( west side of St Stephens Green ). Overnight rates from 5 Euro ( 4754943 ).
Special arrangements with the Harcourt Hotel ( adjacent ). Once you are a resident of Harrington hall you are welcome to avail of the late bars / beer garden and nightclub in the Harcourt Hotel and / or Little Caesars restaurant.
