Torraiolo a
splendid residential complex situated in the heart of
the Chianti Region, at Barberino Val d’Elsa. Torraiolo is dedicated
to the cultivation of grapes and olives. The estate is made up of a main house and a
borgo, which was restored according to Tuscan architectural tradition.
The happy collocation of
Torraiolo makes it very easy to get to places of renowned artistic and cultural interest: Florence (25 minutes), Siena (20 minutes) and many other cities of historical and cultural
relevance such as San Gimignano, Pienza and Montalcino with their
famous works of art, squares, shops and boutiques. Set on it’s own hilltop overlooking one of the most
breathtaking views of the Tuscan landscape, surrounded by olive groves and vineyards,
Torraiolo is the ideal retreat for anyone interested in enjoying the various aspects for
which Tuscany is famous throughout the world: its history, art, culture and culinary
traditions, combined with genuine and friendly care for it’s guests.
There are 13 apartments
which are divided between the villa and the country houses. They have been remodeled with
respect to the style of the surrounding environment. The borgo
was entirely remodeled and subdivided into apartments for two, four, or six people. The
interiors of Torraiolo's buildings attest to a love of tradition containing: ceiling
beams, stone walls, arches in stone and brick, kitchens with beautiful brickwork, and
traditional Tuscan fireplaces and furniture.
The farm, which includes the villa and agricultural
buildings, is not far from the borgo of Torraiolo. The cantina has been recently
restructured in
order to ensure maximum safety and efficiency while maintaining traditional standards of
production. Guests are welcome to visit the vineyard, olive groves, and the cantina. Our
products include wine, vinsanto, and extra-virgin olive oil.
Our guests are able to enjoy a vast and beautiful garden
with places to eat and barbecue. We also offer the possibility of dining on the outside
patio, furnished with tables and chairs. In addition, there is a large pool which looks
out onto the grapevines and olive groves. Finally, one can easily rent a bike or go
horse-backriding nearby.
