Hotel Villa Casagrande, near Greve and Florence, is an elegant hotel of high standards, situated in the historic center of Figline Valdarno, a town well positioned in the centre between the cities of Florence, Arezzo and Siena. The local train station is just a short distance away.
Ideal for both business travellers and tourists, you will be welcomed by the staff at your service 24 hours a day, providing tourist information and helping you to discover the beauty and flavours of “terra Toscana”. The fortified Villa Casagrande was commissioned by Ser Ristoro, an important Florentine notary. The restored villa, that once hosted great personalities like popes and aristocrats, has been transformed into charming hotel offering Standard and Superior rooms, as well as Suites. There are also apartments for 2 or 4 persons each.
Within the old ramparts, guests will find an inside swimming pool with a nice Spa, equipped of sauna, Jacuzzi, steam bath and fitness room. Massages and beauty treatments can be done on request. The hotel restaurant offers typical Tuscan cuisine either in the ancient room of arms, or outside in the beautiful cloister.
The property of Villa Casagrande is also in active production of Chianti wine and olive oil. Several halls and salons are used for organizing cooking and ceramic courses, wine tasting, seminars and meetings. At the Cappuccini Hill, the brand new annex, visitors will enjoy also a breathtaking panoramic pool with bar, terrace and shortly a pool restaurant.
Special Events at Hotel Villa Casagrande
Guided Tours: Three times a week Casagrande organizes a guided tour through the historic noble apartments, the museum and the wine cellar followed by the opportunity to taste several different Chianti wines produced by Casagrande. These are offer every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
Cooking classes: The courses last for three hours and can take place any afternoon from Monday to Thursday, requiring the participation of at least 4 people. The lessons are run by our Chef, and together you will prepare (and afterwards eat!) typical Tuscan dishes and other Italian specialities, sweets and Tuscan cakes.
Ceramics Course: Guests are invited to visit our on site art workshop, where a wide range of hand painted ceramics are produced by resident artist Kerstin Rauch. A variety of courses are also on offer, from 1-hour Majolica decoration to modeling with clay.
Onsite Spa - Wellness Center
In the wellness area here in the hotel you will be able to fully relax. Many different types of massages and treatments are available. The center is also equipped with a small gym, a sauna, a steam room and a large hydromassage pool.
The Wellness Area is open all year round, with the following timetable: from Monday to Saturday (from 17:00 to 21:00) and on sunday (from 15:00 to 19:00), allowing you to fully enjoy your stay in the hotel, the swimming-pool opening period start from 1st May until 15th October is heated by solar panels.
