Relais Osteria dell’Orcia occupies a finely restored 16th century horse-and-carriage station, located along the Via Francigena.  Here in the vicinity of Bagno Vignoni is where, in centuries past, pilgrims from Northern Europe traveling to Rome regularly sought rest and refreshment. In the late 19th century, following the collapse of the Peruzzi Bridge, the Inn was converted into a farmhouse. In the 1950s the building was vacated and left to fall into decline.

In the late 1990s, Osteria dell’Orcia Relais became the subject of an extensive restoration project, which successfully reinstated the building’s original charm and, at the same time, allowed for the careful integration of the latest in modern comforts and technology.  Today’s Osteria dell’Orcia Relais is an intimate, four-star establishment, providing quality guest accommodation in just 16 bedrooms, each individually furnished in romantic Tuscan country style. The ancient Peruzzi Bridge has also been restored, allowing guests staying at Relais Osteria dell’Orcia to reach the center of Bagno Vignoni and the local Thermae on foot in just 5 minutes.

From its location in the heart of traditional Tuscany, with its landscapes, history and art, the hotel´s philosophy is to enhance the art of hospitality and good food with the excellence of wine produced from its vineyards, olives from its olive trees, by selected meat from local farms and with the taste of  products grown in this valley.  Their ambitious goal is to provide guests with the memory of taste, relaxation and personalized, yet professional service.
