The house is set amidst eight acres of lake and parkland, described by many as some of the loveliest in England. Roman remains, medieval churches, fine houses and the famous gardens of Kiftsgate and Hidcote are all found in this historic area. Bath, Cirencester and Chedworth are fascinating centers of Roman Britain. Broadway, Chipping Campden, Burford and Painswick are famous for their architecture. Gloucester Cathedral, the Abbey at Tewkesbury and the Ruins of Hailes Abbey all pay tribute to the area's rich religious history. Within easy reach are Blenheim Palace, (birthplace of Winstron Churchill), Stratford upon Avon (home of the Royal Shakespeare Company) and Worcester with it's cathedral and famous porcelain factory.
Bedrooms at the Manor are beautifully decorated with period furniture, pastel colored fabrics and original Victorian watercolors; all have magnificently appointed bathrooms Ensuite. Many bedrooms overlook the old courtyard whilst others enjoy views of the lake and parkland beyond.
The original part of the house dates from 1650, although numerous additions have been added over the years, primarily during the Victorian era. The reception rooms have retained their warm and convivial atmosphere, handsomely furnished with traditional chintz and fine antiques.
The elegant and spacious dining room which overlooks the original rectory walled gardens and terrace is the very heart of this English country house. Skillfully, prepared and presented food is complemented by an outstanding selection of wines, held in the remarkable cellar, rambling beneath the Manor. Our chef is always delighted to welcome guests into his kitchen.
