In the heart of the Chianti area, just a few kilometers from Florence is the Renaissance "Villa Il Poggiale", classified as a historical home, entirely restored by its owners with the aim of offering the hospitality and atmosphere of a patrician family country house at really affordable prices. The Villa has wonderful light and spacious rooms. The large hall, the heart of the house, with its beautifully painted doors, has comfortable armchairs and welcoming sofas, while various other smaller lounges offer quiet, cozy corners for reading and relaxation. Each room has its own unique character. The walls are painted in soft pastels made from natural pigments. The fabrics used for curtains and canopies come from small Tuscan artisan workshops. Oriental silks, on the other hand, have been used in the salons and rooms on the ground floor. There are a total of 24 rooms and suites and all rooms include the following:

We are proud to announce the opening of our new wellness center inside the Villa, which has been created to complete your stay among the rolling hills of the Tuscan countryside with moments of relax and wellbeing. The wellness center has been specifically designed for Villa Il Poggiale and offers simple and efficient treatments with natural products from the Tuscan territory such as grapes, citrus fruits,olives, honey and essential oils.

Villa Il Poggiale is an ideal setting for weddings, parties and workshops. We’ll be pleased to help you to organize an unforgettable wedding or a special celebration. Wedding planners, flower decorators and the best of catering service can also be provided. A New Years concert on the first of January takes place in the great hall of the Villa. The concert is made up of Chamber Music with soloist from Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. After the concert we offer our guests the traditional mulled wine accompanied by dried and candied fruits.

Our collaboration with Marchesi Antinori started in 2003 and allows our guests to enjoy their wine estates and restaurants in the Chianti region and in Florence from a privileged standpoint. To sleep in a Renaissance villa and to visit the Antinori properties will be an unforgettable experience!

La Fonte: Is the name of the farmhouse dating back to the 16th century which has been completely restored. It is only 100 meters from the Villa along a path which winds its way through the olive grove. La Fonte (The Spring) is located in the recently restored sixteenth century farm house, at the end of a path leading to the Villa gate at hundred meters. The house is simply lovely with a stunning view over the rose garden the olive groves and the Chianti hills in the background. There are two large and light bedrooms, each with en suite bathroom, a beautiful living room with the original fireplace and a fully equipped kitchen. The décor has the sam elegant and cosy style of the Villa with linen fabrics and period furniture. If you love peace, silence and light you will not resist La Fonte.

"What a beautiful room! I could look out the front window to the driveway but was a bit too short to see the full view over the fields - John said that it was lovely!! The villa is beautiful and the staff extremely helpful and friendly. As it was off season, only breakfast was served but there were some nice restaurants in the town. We had a car so this was a great base from which to visit Tuscany."
