Posted: June, 17 2014

London is full of so many eateries that there’s something for everyone and the city can satiate any appetite and budget. If you have plans to stay at one of our many amazing hotels in the city, here are our top picks for getting a bite to eat between seeing Big Ben and riding a double decker bus.

Breakfast

Immerse yourself in the English culture with a tasty breakfast at Regency Café in Westminster.  The eatery has 4.5 out of 5 stars on Yelp and reviewers rave about dishes like the Full English Breakfast featuring scrambled eggs, hash, bacon, sausage, tomatoes and mushrooms or the Steak Pie with chips and peas. This diner-style establishment is laid back and reasonably priced, making it a great way to start a day full of sightseeing.

Quick Lunch

The café atmosphere at Fernandez & Wells makes it a great choice for diners looking for a quick bite to eat for lunch in the midst of a busy day or touring the city.  Yelpers suggest the tasty sandwich menu featuring items like grilled chorizo, black pudding, and croissants stuffed with ingredients like ham and cheese, pancetta, or cheese and tomato. They also serve coffee from Monmouth Coffee, a company local to London that is recognized for its commitment to quality beans.

Family Friendly

Family friendly doesn’t have to mean boring and Belgo Centraal is a great eatery option for families that can please pee-wee and adult appetites alike. The restaurant serves up Belgian fare including delicious mussels, colossal waffles, and delicious pomme frites. They also have a kid’s menu and the industrial-style laid-back atmosphere provides for a not-too-stuffy place perfect for little ones.

Date Night

When visiting London, it’s a must to have a meal at one of the city’s more high-end restaurants and Dinner by Heston Blumenthal is just the ticket.  The restaurant is ranked as one of the top restaurants in the world and has two Michelin Stars. The menu is full of dishes inspired by historical British dishes. Diners on Yelp rave about the Meat Fruit Pie which is Mandarin, chicken liver, and foie gras parfait served with grilled bread.

Sweet Treats

If you find yourself with a sweet tooth while visiting London, Laduree is the cure. While it’s a little more fancy than your traditional bakery, it’s the perfect tourist stop to get something unique and delicious. While authentic French macarons are their specialty, they also serve up a variety of cream puffs, cakes, tarts, and pastries.
