Chateau la Cheneviere
The heart and soul of an 18th-c. family still inhabits this delightful château. The building, originally a manor house and important farm, underwent improvement work in the late 19th century: a floor was added along with wood balconies and a veranda (no longer existing today). The extensive stables also date back to this period. During WWII, the Château was occupied by the Germans, then by the Americans after the June 1944 landing. Fully restored in 1988 by Mr. and Madame Dicker, the manor became a hotel-restaurant.
Just 2½ hrs from Paris, 1 hr from Mont-Saint-Michel, between Bayeux (famed for its “Mémoire du Monde” Tapestry listed by l'UNESCO) and landing beaches (Omaha Beach and its American cemetery), La Chenevière is ideally located to facilitate your discovery of every facet of Normandy, with its grounds and history and intimate gardens. Just some of activity suggestions by the hotel: treasure hunt on the theme of a mountain-bike landing, sand yachting, horseback riding, initiation to golf at the nearby Omaha Beach Golf Course, sightseeing of the flora and fauna in Port-en-Bessin.
The elegant Château La Cheneviere, nestled in the Norman countryside, is just 10 min from Omaha Beach and Bayeux, is an ideal hideaway to experience calm relaxation and invigorating moments: open heated pool and orangery with all the amenities, set in 2 hectares of enclosed gardens, 12 hectares of landscaped grounds with tennis court, jogging trail, croquet greens, rose gardens and fragrant bushes, not to mention the Chef’s vegetable garden. In the evening, our bar “Le Zanzibar” and its coy atmosphere invite you to indulge in a musical voyage
The hotel features 29 luxury rooms, including 3 suites with infinite charm. Spacious, refined rooms with striking harmonies in which antique rubs elbows with contemporary: tester bed and marble fireplace of the like only vintage dwellings can offer. Cozy rooms in pastel tints, each of which reveals an image of mellow living in its own way: soft atmosphere, a haven of elegance and romanticism. Every room has a different décor but the same charm. In each room and suite you’ll find a TV, minibar, safe (DVD and CD player in the junior suites and suites) and in every bathroom: bathrobes, hair-dryer, make-up mirror, Occitane courtesy products, cover sets.

- 7 air-conditioned rooms in La Forge (including 2 with private patio)
- 7 air-conditioned rooms in La Commanderie (including 2 junior suites with private patio)

In harmony with this haute cuisine is a treasure-trove cellar featuring the finest wines selected by our sommelier.
The glitter of light against the gold ornamentation, flower colors, pastel tints, soft contemporary settings under molded cathedral ceilings...
