For the wine and olive oil enthusiasts - this is the place to immerse yourself in the centuries old agriculture of, "La scelta del Biologico"(Choosing Organic). Only the finest grapes are carefully selected and only the best bunches that have reached full maturation, are picked. The cutting of the vines is done by hand. The grape is placed in a little basket, the stalks are separated from the fruit and the best grapes are carefully selected on the sorting table. Everything is done by hand, everything is done with passion. You can even "adopt a barrel" and create your own private label, using their wine! Equally as delectable is the extra virgin olive oil produced from the Casa - Chianti Classico D.O.P. Hand selected and picked, the olives are sent to the mill within 24 hours of harvest. With zero acidity, the golden yellow color, and the scent of fresh herbs (basil, mint and sage), the palate reveals an extraordinary delicacy, moderately sweet, with a slightly spicy finish - dip it in a little farm bread and "delizioso!"
The original villa is inspired by the most authentic styles of Chianti: linear, luminous, almost sculptural. Distributed on three levels, it takes advantage of the natural slope of the land and plays with alternating horizontal and vertical lines. The geometric universe opens a dialogue with the natural surroundings through its ample fenestration.
For those who prefer the option of a hotel, they offer rooms characterized by unique and evocative details. The rooms are distributed within the Borgo - some have a magnificent view, some offer atmosphere and charm, while others have outdoor space or a private fireplace. What the rooms share is their magnificent position within the beautiful scenery of picturesque Chianti.
Borgo Casa al Vento also offer apartments for 2, 4, or up to 6 people - in the Borgo, each one unique, made of stone walls, exposed wooden beams and terracotta tile floors. All the apartments are furnished with a comfortable outdoor space, an independent entrance and are all equipped with private kitchen. They are spacious and offer privacy to all of the guests. A/C and free WIFI.
Enjoy a relaxing dip in the outside swimming pool with the picturesque back drop of the Chianti countryside. With an archery field, tennis courts, a shaded ping pong table and numerous hiking trails, there are plenty of activities for all to enjoy. if you prefer horseback riding, four wheeling or mountain biking, the experts will assist you with the equipment and the thrill to enjoy. If that isn't enough, savor an authentic Italian kitchen which offers meals linked to the tradition of the Chianti region and to the organic products of the soil. Homemade pasta, vegetables from their garden, game from nearby hunting preserves, and, of course, the extra virgin olive oil flavor all the meals. The restaurant, created in the ancient vaulted wine cellar, is a structure of unique architectural value.
Their chef Andrea has twenty years of experience in Tuscan cuisine and offers authentic dishes made with true and unmistakable flavors, thanks to the use of quality products from the region. We are proud to say that the kitchen is a member of Slow Food Firenze. Cooking classes are organized in an informal and convivial atmosphere, and each guest is actively involved in the kitchen, under the supervision of Chef Andrea.
