Florence, Italy

Set in one of Florence’s most exclusive streets ‘Via Tornabuoni’ you will find a truly enchanting historical mansion. A striking medieval tower dating from 13th century, Antica Torre Tornabuoni is one of the Florence’s finest properties offering luxurious accommodation in the very centre of this remarkable city. The tower is set on Via Tornabuoni, one of Florence’s most prestigious shopping streets famed for its luxurious boutiques such as Gucci, Salvatore Ferragamo, Ermenegildo Zegna, Tiffany, Montblanc, Giorgio Armani and Dior. Just steps away from the famous Santa Trinita bridge, Antica Torre Tornabuoni is perfectly placed for those guests wishing to immerse themselves in the rich and vibrant Florentine culture. Its location is unsurpassable and allows visitors the unique opportunity to discover the true essence of modern luxury in the very heart of Florence.
The tower-house called “Antica Torre Tornabuoni ” stands at the beginning of the iconic street via de’ Tornabuoni, a few steps away from Santa Trinita Bridge. It was built in the mid-thirteenth century by the Guelf Ruggerini family and was later sold to the Fastellis or Pietrobonos. From the early 1300s until the end of the 1700s it was the Gianfigliazzi residence, whose name dates back to a certain Giovanni, son of Galeazzo, called “Gian son of Azzo”. It belonged for a long time to the Gianfigliazzi family, which in this area had extensive properties, “and until 1770 it was destined for the public conversation of the noble class”, hence the name by which it is still known today (casino of the Nobles).
Only our guests can access the terraces and enjoy an unique view of Florence. The dome of Santa Maria del Fiore, the hills of Fiesole and Settignano, the Arno River, the Santa Trinita Bridge and Via Maggio, the church of San Miniato a Monte, Forte Belvedere designed by Buontalenti, the hill of Bellosguardo, Palazzo Vecchio, the bell tower of Santa Trinita: wherever you turn, Florence will show you all its splendor.
Breakfast
In the communal spaces there is a different scent in every season, just as there are always fresh flowers, healthy refreshing drinks during the summer and warming drinks in the winter. Great attention is paid to the use of organic and locally sourced produce, preferably from local Tuscan farmers. Therefore, breakfast is a triumphant delicacy, apple and apricot jams, fresh bread which can be cut by the guests themselves at the time, seasonal fresh fruit. Mini pain au chocolate, cream and raisin pastries, delicious walnuts, almonds and so on. This “dynamic breakfast” is also a nice moment for interaction with the tower’s staff, as often it’s in the morning that guests ask for information and advice in order to plan their day.
Light Lunch
Our light lunch service is the tower’s forte, a union of high quality local, organic products. We love to prepare sandwiches and salads in an open kitchen for our diners, the flavours and pairings are no doubt a unique experience. Our combinations which are created exclusively, offer unusual pairings and unless you are a creature of habit, you’ll be able to mix and match different ingredients for your sandwich from our menu. A few of the most interesting being, a roastbeef sandwich with salad, tomato, mayonnaise and horseradish or prawn salad with citrus fruit mayonnaise and not forgetting our club sandwich or our traditional toasts.
Panoramic Bar
There are some experiences that are difficult to forget and probably the view of Florence from our terrace is one of those. You can admire the red summer sunset or the pink autumn sunset from our rooftop bar surrounded by the tower’s merlons which have been protecting the tower for over 800 years. The dome terrace has a breathtaking view of Brunelleschi’s Dome and Giotto’s bell tower while the Arno terrace offers a more intimate atmosphere, looking over an exclusive side of Florence, from Palazzo Pitti to Forte Belvedere and the dome of Santo Spirito; all accompanied by the peaceful flow of the silvery Arno river.
The Rooms and Suites are a beautiful blend of original architecture, classic art, and contemporary style. The atmosphere is one of pure, timeless luxury thanks to the historic interiors beautifully orchestrated by designers, Antica Torre Tornabuoni captures that elusive mix of old school glamour and contemporary chic.
