,

For who loves to relax in the countryside among olive trees and vineyards, without having to renounce of cultural visits to the city center.  At Castello Apartments you can experience the best of two worlds.

Situated only 3 km from the centre of Florence, on the city-center's doorstep, Castello Apartments, a beautiful 18th Century Villa housing three apartments, is set on four acres of olive trees, and has a private swimming pool. The Villa is situated in Castello, an area of great historical importance, on one of Florence's amazing hills. From the property you can enjoy an incredible panoramic view of all of Florence.

These newly renovated suite apartments are a pleasing blend of traditional Tuscan architecture and modern convenience and design. Windows with vistas of Florence center, the Villa Petraia tower, or the garden brighten these airy and quiet quarters. Exposed timber ceilings and terracotta tile floors contribute to the characteristic charm of this Tuscan home. Each apartment includes a well-appointed kitchen, marble or tile counters, refrigerator, and stove top.

Bathrooms offer showers or tub. Apartments are also equipped with TV/DVD players. In addition, each apartment has a terrace with table for outdoor dining, and a barbecue grill is available in the garden. The garden offers sunset views of the Arno valley and surrounding mountains. Private parking available within the gates.

We produce our own Olive Oil at Castello Apartments, and guests coming in November can have a look at how we produce this marvelous and natural made oil.

Several Renaissance villas are located within walking distance from the apartments. The Villa Reale and Villa Petraia, both belonging to the Medici family, are famous for their architecture and as striking examples of Italian formal gardens.

Villa Petraia was also home to king Vittorio Emanuele II, who summered in Castello when Florence became the capital of Italy in 1865.

Further down the road from Villa Petraia, you'll see Villa Bel Riposo. Carlo Lorenzi Collodi, the author of Pinocchio lived here while he was writing this popular story. All the characters in Pinocchio were drawn from real persons living in and around Castello.

The countryside surrounding the Castello Apartments is splendid for long or short walks. Narrow roads wind along ancient stone walls up the mountainside.

Marvel at the rustic farm houses and splendid villas that sit amongst acres of silver-leafed olive trees. Guests are invited to stroll throughout the Castello Apartments own olive grove to enjoy views of Villa Petraia and vistas of the Arno valley and the city of Florence.
