Conveniently located about one hour from the major airports of Turin, Milan and Genoa and only 15 minutes from the main motorways, La Villa gives easy access to all of the major attractions in historic Piedmont - world renowned for its wines and gastronomic cuisine. The church spires and hilltop villages can be seen on the surrounding hills and the church bells compete for the attention of the cyclists and walkers as they explore the magnificent countryside. La Villa is an independent, family-run hotel that has already earned a reputation as the most relaxing, indulgent and comfortable accommodation in the area. We want our guests to enjoy themselves and feel at home, so we offer elegant but comfortable surroundings, old-fashioned hospitality and personal service. Since the beginning of 2006, the hotel been ranked as high as the third best hotel in Italy. In 2007, it was also awarded the Travelers Award as one of the Top 10 'Hotel Gems' in Europe 2006. The hotel now has 14 rooms with suites, executive double, double and single rooms, all with antique and period furniture purchased in the local area. Our restaurant opened in Spring 2007 and closes for the winter in mid-November. The restaurant re-opens in May this year. We serve light lunches in the open courtyard and simple evening meals made from the freshest ingredients. We also try and have a barbecue or outdoor buffet at least once a week. There are landscaped gardens with a superb swimming pool, a large covered pergola - to enjoy breakfast and lunch outside, sun terraces, a courtyard with views along the valley and a covered BBQ and outside bar area. Indoors, we offer a relaxing lounge bar, wine tasting room, games room and small gym. La Villa is set in the Piedmont (Piemonte in Italian) region, home of many of Italy's (and the world's) finest wines including Barolo, Barbaresco, Barbera and Moscato. Wine tours can begin from within 5 minutes of the hotel, where you can also enjoy one of Italy's most renowned grape manufacturers - Berta.
Piedmont is the home of the Slow Food movement and is renowned for the quality of its food and its gourmet cuisine. Everywhere you will find local artisan producers of cheese, salami, chocolate.... The area has the highest concentration of gourmet chefs in Italy and there is food to satisfy every palette. The region is also rich in history, pageantry and breathtaking scenery. La Villa is in the golden triangle of wine production and is ideally based for 'gourmet cooking' and sightseeing for all of the major activities and events in Piedmont.
The hotel offers a wide range of facilities including a large private car park, restaurant, guest lounge and bar and separate breakfast room. There is a sala degustazione (wine tasting room), which has a regular temperature all year round and where we offer samplings of the famous Piemontese wines. We also have a games room and small gym. Outside, there are landscaped gardens, roof terrace and lots of independent sitting areas, plus our swimming pool which allows guests to look the length of the valley towards the mountains, whilst keeping cool. The area is also well known for horse riding, cycling and walking and, within a reasonable distance there are golf, shooting and fishing. Throughout the hotel, including the guest rooms, there is central heating and air conditioning. There are also large numbers of books, DVD's and CD's that guests can borrow to simply relax.
Guest Rooms
The accommodation at La Villa has been designed to offer a wide range of accommodation to suit all requirements - from single rooms to large suites - for a single visitor or for families or groups. It has also been designed to be extremely flexible, so that larger parties or families can take over a complete area or wing of the hotel, with friends, colleagues, children, or family accommodated in neighboring rooms, with private access to the group of rooms. There is also a mix of styles throughout the hotel, from the exotic Moroccan room to the refined French Quarter and the rustic Italian style rooms with their lustrous woods and wrought iron furnishings. Many of the rooms have private balconies or terraces where guests can relax or you can use one of our barbecues for a relaxed al fresco meal. All of the rooms have individual central heating and air conditioning, hair dryers and tea and coffee making facilities and the suites have satellite TV, DVD and CD player. The TVs are also available in the other rooms, on request. The hotel also has a complimentary broadband WI-FI service, both inside and outside.
Double Room & Executive Double Rooms
The five executive double bedrooms (one with four poster bed) all have en suite bathrooms, mini bar and tea and coffee making facilities. There is one double bedroom, which is slightly smaller than the executive doubles, but with superb views towards the east and the vine-laden hills. It also has an en suite shower room, mini bar and tea and coffee making facilities.
Suites
There are four suites and one Junior Suite, each offered with a large double bedroom (one with four poster bed and one with twin beds), ensuite bathroom and separate lounge, with mini-bar and tea and coffee making facilities. Three of the suites also have king size sofa beds in the lounge, giving accommodation for up to 4 people. The Junior Suite can only accommodate 2 guests.
Penthouse
The Penthouse is a very large, second-floor executive double bedroom with the best views in the hotel. It has an en suite bathroom with both shower and bath, mini bar and tea and coffee making facilities.
