The Hotel Ópera enjoys a prime location: in the heart of Madrid’s old quarter, opposite the Royal Palace and the Royal Opera Theatre, situated in the famous and distinguished district of Los Austrias.  Just moments from the hotel, you’ll find Plaza de Oriente square, the Royal Palace, Convento de las Descalzas Reales convent, Convento de la Encarnación convent, Plaza Mayor (main square), the Gran Vía, Puerta del Sol and the main shopping areas. It is also at close proximity to the Triangle of Art: The Prado, Thyssen Bornemisza and Reina Sofia museums.

Arriving by car:

  • From the airport: On the A2 Dual carriageway (Barcelona) to the City Centre. Enter the city along Avenida de América until you reach Paseo de la Castellana, along María de Molina. Take calle Eloy Gonzalo as far as Glorieta de Quevedo roundabout and turn onto calle San Bernardo. Continue along calle San Bernardo until you reach Plaza de Santo Domingo square, go down Santo Domingo hill. At the end of the street, turning a corner to the left, you’ll find the Hotel Ópera, opposite the Royal Opera Theatre.
  • From the North: A1 (Burgos): Enter the city along Paseo de la Castellana. Then follow the same directions as from the airport. From the East: A3 (Valencia) East: Avenida del Mediterráneo Paseo de Reina Cristina, continuing along Paseo de la Infanta Isabel, as far as calle Atocha. Continue along this street and turn towards Paseo del Prado in the direction of calle Alcalá. On Plaza de Cibeles, take calle Alcalá and veer slightly right onto the Gran Vía, then turn to the left on the Gran Vía (towards Plaza de España), and when you reach Plaza de Callao, turn left and veer slightly right along calle Jacometrezo, to come out on Plaza de Santo Domingo. Then turn right, and turn left at the roundabout, to go down Santo Domingo hill. At the end of the street, turning a corner to the left, you’ll find the Hotel Ópera, opposite the Royal Opera Theatre.
  • From the South: On the A4 (Andalucía) South, in Madrid, take the exit towards the M30, leave the M30 at exit 17 Virgen del Puerto/ Puente de Segovia, and join Virgen del Puerto and at the San Vicente roundabout, go towards San Vicente hill – Plaza de España. Continue along until you turn right onto calle Bailén and then left onto calle San Quintín, when you reach calle Arrieta. At the next crossroads, turn a corner to the left, you’ll find the Hotel Ópera, opposite the Royal Opera Theatre.
  • From the West: A6 (Coruña): Entering the city through Moncloa, go down calle Princesa, then turn right onto Plaza de España, towards San Vicente hill, and then veer slightly to the right. Then, turn left to take calle Bailén, then left onto calle San Quintín, when you reach calle Arrieta. At the next crossroads, turn a corner to the left, where you’ll find the Hotel Ópera, opposite the Royal Opera Theatre.

Arriving by taxi:
There are taxi ranks at all the terminals of Madrid Barajas Airport. The journey time to the centre of Madrid is around 25 min. From any terminal, the tariff is fixed at 30€ including luggage.

Arriving by metro:
Travelling by metro from the airport to the centre of Madrid is very simple. On line 8 (pink) you can travel from the stops Terminals 1, 2 and 3 and Terminal 4 to Nuevos Ministerios. Then, you’ll have to change to line 10 (dark blue) and go as far as Príncipe Pío, where you’ll change to the Ramal line as far as Ópera. A few metres from the metro exit, you’ll find the Hotel Ópera.
