Dating back to 1874, the hotel has been magnificently restored to retain its Victorian grandeur. Kildonan Lodge Hotel's splendid Victorian lounge and bar provides a tranquil setting in which guests can relax by the open fire and enjoy a dram from our fine selection of Scottish whiskies and local beers in the honesty bar. Free wireless broadband internet access is available throughout the hotel and guests have ample space to leave their cars in our private carpark while they explore Edinburgh. The hotel is located only 1.5miles from the Royal Mile. You may choose to explore Edinburgh on foot or by utilizing the fantastic Edinburgh Bus Services opposite the hotel. The hotel is located on the main bus route into town, and buses stop frequently outside the hotel to and from the city centre.

Rooms at Kildonan Lodge Hotel come in four categories:
Superior Four Poster: Designed with romance in mind, Four Poster rooms (2 rooms total) are the most popular and luxurious rooms. All offer elegant canopied four poster queen beds complete with ensuite bath, high ceilings and flat screen TVs. Perfect for any special occasion or a romantic weekend away.
Executive Double/King: The stylish, more contemporary Executive rooms (6 rooms in all), which have recently been refurbished, add a hint of modern sophistication to the hotel. These rooms offer you a choice of either king or twin beds and are all equipped with ensuite bath to ensure a truly relaxing stay. Some of these rooms are located on the garden level and have easy access to the car park for those guests with heavy luggage. Ideal for couples or the discerning business guest.
Classic Double: Each room (5 rooms total) has been tastefully decorated to complement the classical theme throughout the hotel. These rooms have a double bed. Some of these rooms are located on the top floor and have charming coomed ceilings, giving a cute and cosy feel. Please advise if you have difficulty with stairs as Kildonan Lodge Hotel has rooms on other levels of the hotel that may be more suitable. These rooms suit couples, single travelers or families.
Family Rooms: The hotel features a variety of family rooms including smaller classic family rooms and the Superior Green Tartan Family Room, which is the largest guest room featuring a lovely 4 poster double bed, large bay window, high ceilings and an ornate fireplace.
In addition to the rooms offered in the hotel, Kildonan Lodge Hotel also features a Garden Lodge situated at the rear of our hotel, set back in its own private garden. It features a charming lounge with inglenook fireplace and flat screen TV with full sky sports channels. Conservatory off main lounge is perfect for relaxing after a busy day of sightseeing. The lodge has three double en-suite rooms. Two rooms contain super king size beds with en-suite bathroom which can be converted into twins and one small double with shower en-suite. The Garden Lodge can be sold per room or is ideal for groups of friends who wish to be located together with their own private lounge. It is also the perfect retreat for family reunions, wedding parties, golf breaks and hen weekends. Breakfast or dinner can be served in the conservatory by prior arraignment.
