POOL
The hotel's swimming pool resembles a small lake inhabited by irregular islands.Conceived by Ponti "not as a pool for competitive swimmers, but as a body of water for forest nymphs, from which small islands emerge," it is an oasis hidden among the treetops, where you can relax amidst the scents of nature. The pool is a mirror of seawater surrounded by greenery, dotted with peninsulas and a diving board/ladder emerging from the bottom. The sea is accessible from the small pebble beach or from the crescent-shaped cliff that winds its way into the Sea of Sirens.Nestled in the Botanical Park is the seawater pool that Ponti envisioned as a small body of natural water with peninsulas, landing islands, and a diving board/ladder that emerges like a fish or a rock: a pond of green water that blends into the surrounding nature. The pool is open from April to November. The Pool Bar is the perfect place to cool off on a sunny day. Surrounded by greenery, it offers a selection of summer cocktails, cold drinks, and light snacks to complement your relaxing moments. A quiet corner where every break becomes an opportunity to enjoy the scent of the trees and the shimmer of the water, to slow down, breathe, and let yourself be lulled by beauty. A lift that passes through the tuff rock, or a fascinating path winding through tunnels and caves, leads to the sea. Here lies the small private beach of volcanic origin, secluded and private, protected by a crescent-shaped sun deck: a scenic strip of land where you can relax in close contact with the crystal-clear water. The beach is open from May til mid-October. The Sea Bar with sea views stretching to the horizon, the sea bar offers a selection of cocktails and refreshing drinks accompanied by delicious snacks , ideal for relaxing and enjoying the view. For lunch, we also serve fragrant pizzas, delicious buns, and all the freedom of a relaxing moment on the beach. An exclusive spot for a tasty break just steps from the sea.

Blue Bar
Sip a drink surrounded by “lightness… grace and reflections of light and sky” from the walls covered in pebbles and relief ceramics. Arriving at the Blu Bar is like stepping into a suspended stage, where every corner speaks of design and the Mediterranean: the shiny majolica tiles on the walls, designed by Fausto Melotti, reflect the sky and the sea, the pebbles and relief ceramics give the space light and movement, while the stools designed by Gianfranco Frattini invite guests to take a seat. Beyond the dining room, the majolica terrace suspended between the botanical garden and the Gulf of Sorrento invites you to take a break overlooking the Gulf of Sorrento. Here, a selection of classic and signature cocktails, inspired by the atmosphere of the Parco dei Principi, offer an aperitif full of relaxation and beauty.
Botanical Garden
The botanical garden of the Parco dei Principi extends for over two hectares on a tuff ridge overlooking the sea, which opens onto the Gulf of Naples. It is a garden of exuberant blooms, boasting over four hundred trees, numerous exotic species, and a lush undergrowth of ferns and convallaria. Here, in a comfortable climate of partial shade, you can lose yourself among towering palms and ancient ferns and admire an ancient Agathis robusta , one of the first specimens planted in Italy. It was originally a farm owned by the Jesuits, who cultivated it as a vegetable garden; when Villa Poggio Siracusa was built in the 18th century, the vegetable garden became a garden, designed in the style of the Bourbon gardens of the time, decorated with small neoclassical structures. One example is the Temple of Love, which recalls the fake ruins found, for example, in the contemporary Royal Palace of Caserta.Between 1892 and 1917, the garden was personally tended by Princess Elena Kortchacov. This cosmopolitan and fashionable aristocrat had a keen interest in botanical science, a love of exotic plants, a must-have in the noble gardens of the time, and a passion for her Sorrento park, the garden of wonders with which she amazed and enchanted her guests.Elena planted in Sorrento the exotic species she herself collected during her frequent travels around the world. She also equipped the garden with a greenhouse, which became a nursery for sowing seeds, cuttings, and winter shelter. She created a rose garden in an area protected from the sea winds, raising parrots, swans, and even a monkey, because she saw the place as a kind of Eden, a biopark ante litteram, populated by exotic and curious plants and animals.During the years between the First and Second World Wars, the iron from the greenhouse and some lampposts were requisitioned to make weapons, and maintenance was inevitably severely reduced. Elena died in 1948, after granting the property in perpetual emphyteusis to a company, from which, in 1959, engineer Roberto Fernandes purchased it to transform it into the Hotel Parco dei Principi.Fernandes immediately understood its importance and ensured that it was cared for and maintained in keeping with the past, and so have his heirs: even today the family of gardeners who look after it is the same as in Elena Cortchacow's time. Then, in 2022, another phase began: the Russo family of historic gardeners was joined by a curator, Giovanni Masucci, whose task is not only to best manage this extraordinary green area, but also to document and publicize its unique features through a management, enhancement, and promotion project.Today, this Botanical Park is a precious green lung of exotic beauty, a true Eden that offers a living testimony to the centuries of history that have shaped Sorrento. In addition to being open to guests of the hotel, the Gio Ponti and Poggio Siracusa restaurants, and the Blu Bar, it is often open to the public for events and has repeatedly been the subject of guided tours organized by the FAI (Italian National Trust).
